Join our HFA affiliated team of home visitors dedicated to providing parents with information and education during prenatal care and for the first three years of life for infants; helping parents learn to enjoy caring for and playing with their children.  Home Visitors support parents in finding ways to cope with stressful situations in their lives and links families with supportive community resources.  The ideal candidate will have a passion for assisting parents to be successful.

Qualifications:  Demonstrates understanding and ability to utilize dynamics of child abuse, neglect, and family violence.  Relates well to client families in a non-threatening manner.  Builds trust by demonstrating consistency, by listening to parents in a non-judgmental way, by offering assistance with problems; in general, being very supportive.  Demonstrates ability to work as part of a team.  Able to work with individuals and groups.  Able to express oneself orally and in writing. 

Thorough knowledge of the application of nursing practices.  Considerable knowledge of public health nursing theory.  Ability to:  apply principles of public health to communities, families, and individuals; provide skilled nursing care to clients; establish and maintain effective relationships with clients and their families, agency staff members, other organization’s professional representatives, and the general public; apply previously acquired knowledge and skills to new situations; supervise and direct the work of others; communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; make independent decisions; assess nursing needs and to develop and carry out nursing care plans.  Also, ability to:  manage acute situations, match client needs to available resources, extrapolate assessment information into current/future needs; to collect detailed information and accurately document on prescribed forms; to read and evaluate bids for modifications/adaptations and hold bidders accountable; to problem solve billing issues; to work with interdisciplinary team; and to take multiple/contradictory ideas and mold into workable actions.  Minimum Qualifications:  Certification as a public health nurse in Minnesota and current licensure as a registered nurse in Minnesota.  Bilingual (English/Spanish) highly valued.

2022 Starting Salary:  $24.90/hour (Governing Board has authorized a salary of $28.36/hour effective 1/1/2023)

Join our Children’s Mental Health team and make a difference in the lives of the children and families we serve!  This is a mental health case management position that includes assessing children and families for needs, developing plans to meet those needs, and coordinating services and supports to meet needs and address concerns.  This position will work closely with mental health providers, schools, and wraparound and community service providers.  At HSFMC, we use a strengths-based approach to build up the children and families with whom we work.  The ideal candidate will have high levels of compassion, empathy, and integrity, as well as a passion for working with and supporting children who are struggling.  We oftentimes have an opportunity to provide a sense of hope for children and families who feel they don’t know where else to turn and ensuring they know they are not alone.  This position will be based out of our Fairmont, MN office, but will serve clients throughout both Faribault and Martin Counties.  

Entry Salary 2022 is $23.82/hour with Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. office hours.  Telework opportunities once training is complete.  Governing Board has authorized an increase in the starting salary to $28.36 effective 1/1/2023.

Minimum Qualifications:  A bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university with a major in social work, psychology, sociology or closely related field.  OR A bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university with a major in any field and one year of experience as a social worker in a public or private social services agency.  Bilingual (Spanish-English) highly valued.

Human Services of Faribault & Martin Counties is seeking applicants to join the Business Office team.  Account Techs will work in a variety of accounting duties including payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and collections system as well as Department specific systems for claiming and maintaining client files.

Minimum qualifications:  High school diploma or equivalent and two years of experience involving a combination of office support and bookkeeping responsibilities.  College coursework may be substituted for experience.  Must pass written examination. 

2022 Starting Salary:  $15.95hour (Governing Board has authorized a minimum salary of $18.10/hour effective 1/1/2023)
